Routing your shipments…

How we handle your data

Moving a consignment across a border means handing details about it to carriers, customs and overseas agents. This policy sets out exactly what we collect, who it has to reach, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it.

In short

We collect what a shipment actually needs, share it only with the carriers, customs authorities and agents that have to see it, never sell it to anyone, and delete it when you ask — apart from the customs and tax records the law obliges us to keep.
01

Scope of this policy

What it covers, and what it does not

This policy explains how ArShipper Ltd handles personal data. It covers this website, our mobile app, and the shipment records we create when you book with us by phone or at an office.

ArShipper Ltd is the controller of that data. Where we act as your customs agent we also process data on your instruction, and in that role we file only what you have declared to us.

It does not cover a supplier's website, a carrier's tracking page, or any other site you reach from a link on ours. Those services publish their own policies and you should read them there.

02

What we collect

And at which point we ask for it

We ask for information at the point it is needed, and we tell you why at that point. In total we hold:

  • Account detailsYour name, mobile number, email address, password and — for business accounts — company name, trade licence and TIN or BIN.
  • Shipment detailsPickup and delivery addresses, consignee names and contact numbers, cargo descriptions, weights, dimensions, declared values and photographs of the goods.
  • Trade documentsCommercial invoices, packing lists, HS codes, LC and permit references, and the clearance paperwork a consignment requires.
  • Payment recordsInvoices, receipts, wallet transactions and the reference a payment provider returns to us. Card numbers are entered on the payment gateway, never on our site, and we never receive or store them.
  • Images you uploadA profile picture, if you choose to add one, and any photograph you attach to a booking or a claim. A profile picture is optional and the account works without it.
  • Technical dataIP address, browser and device type, operating system, timestamps and the pages visited — the standard log every web server keeps.
  • CommunicationsMessages you send us by email, WhatsApp, the contact form or the chat widget, and our replies to them.
03

Why we hold it

Each purpose, and nothing beyond it

Everything we hold is used for one of these purposes:

  • Book, move, clear and deliver your consignments, and let you track them
  • File the declarations customs and regulatory authorities require for your cargo
  • Issue invoices and receipts, take payment, and operate your wallet balance
  • Tell you what is happening to a shipment — collection, departure, arrival, clearance, delivery
  • Answer your questions and handle claims, refunds and disputes
  • Keep the accounting, tax and customs records the law requires us to keep
  • Detect and prevent fraud, misdeclaration and misuse of an account
  • Understand which parts of the site are used, so we can fix what does not work
Marketing messages are separate and optional. You can stop them without affecting a booking, an invoice or a shipment already in transit.
04

Our lawful basis

Contract, legal duty, consent

Each purpose above rests on one of the following:

  • Performing our contractMost of it. We cannot move a consignment without the addresses, the cargo description and a way to reach the consignee.
  • Complying with a legal obligationCustoms declarations, tax records and anything a regulator or a court lawfully requires of us.
  • Our legitimate interestsSecuring our systems, preventing fraud, recovering unpaid charges and improving the service — weighed each time against your privacy.
  • Your consentOptional things only, such as a profile picture or marketing messages. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting your shipments.
05

Who your data is shared with

The parties a shipment has to pass through

A consignment cannot move unless certain parties see certain data. These are the only ones that do:

  • Carriers and their agentsAirlines, shipping lines, trucking companies and courier partners need the consignee's name, address and contact number to make a delivery.
  • Customs and regulatorsCustoms authorities in the origin and destination countries, and any regulator entitled to inspect a consignment, receive the declarations and documents for it.
  • Overseas agentsOur agents on the lanes we run receive what they need to collect, consolidate and forward your cargo.
  • Payment providersSSLCommerz and the mobile financial services process your payment. They receive what a transaction needs; we receive only the result and a reference.
  • Technology providersGoogle Firebase hosts our database, authentication and file storage, and delivers push notifications under contract to us.
  • Professional advisers and authoritiesAuditors, lawyers, insurers and law enforcement, where the law requires it or a claim makes it necessary.
  • Nobody elseWe do not sell your personal data, rent it, or hand it to advertisers or data brokers. There is no advertising network on this site.
06

Sending data across borders

Unavoidable in international freight

International freight moves data across borders by its nature. Shipping to or from another country means the consignee's details reach the carrier, the agent and the customs authority in that country, and a declaration made there is governed by that country's law.

Our technology providers may also store data on servers outside Bangladesh. Where they do, they are bound by contract to protect it and to process it only on our instructions.

If you would rather a particular detail did not travel with a shipment, tell us before you book — some fields are required by the destination authority and cannot be withheld, and it is better to know that in advance.
07

How long we keep it

And why customs records outlive a shipment

We keep data for as long as the purpose it was collected for requires, and no longer:

Account data
For as long as your account is open, and then removed when you ask us to delete it.
Shipment records
Kept while a consignment is in transit, and for the period afterwards that a claim or a dispute may still arise.
Customs and trade documents
Retained for the period Bangladeshi customs and tax law requires, which outlasts both the shipment and the account.
Invoices and payment records
Kept for the statutory accounting and tax retention period.
Server logs
Kept for a short operational period and then rotated out.
Deleted accounts
Personal data is removed on deletion, except records we are legally required to keep — those are retained and not used for anything else.
08

How it is protected

And what we never store

  • Traffic to this site and our apps is encrypted in transit with HTTPS
  • Accounts are protected by Firebase Authentication, and passwords are stored only as salted hashes we cannot read
  • Access to shipment and customer records is limited to the staff whose work requires it
  • Card and mobile-wallet credentials are entered on the payment provider's own page — they never reach our servers, and we cannot see them
  • We keep an audit trail of changes to bookings, invoices and account status

What we never hold

Full card numbers, CVV codes and mobile-wallet PINs. Those are handled entirely by the payment provider on its own page. Nobody at ArShipper can see them, and no one from ArShipper will ever ask you for them.

Cookies and analytics

What the site sets in your browser

We use cookies and similar browser storage for the things the site cannot work without: keeping you signed in, remembering your session, and holding a booking in progress while you complete it.

We also keep standard server logs — IP address, browser type, timestamps, referring and exit pages — which are used to keep the site running and to understand which pages are used. They are not tied to advertising and are not shared for it.

There are no third-party advertising cookies, ad networks or retargeting pixels on this site. Cookies can be cleared or blocked in your browser settings, though signing in will stop working if you block them entirely.
